Grace Lawyers is the premier strata law firm in NSW with specialist teams that can provide legal advice and assist in any matter arising out of strata and community living. Whether it’s the recovery of strata levies, advice on complex strata, community association and mixed used property and planning issues or complex building and construction font and back end work, Grace Lawyers NSW represents small, iconic and large schemes all over the state – including the Central Coast, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour, Tamworth or Tweed Heads in the north, The Shire, Wollongong or Queanbeyan to the south or Parramatta, Liverpool, Dubbo or Albury to the west.
The Sydney Team is led by Daniel Radman and Colin Grace. While being synonymous with providing quality strata advice, Grace Lawyers has also grown to have specialist teams in insolvency law led by partner Daniel Radman, Insurance Law and Strata Litigation led by partner Peter Ton and Building and Construction Law led by partner Jessica Bates. A key difference between Grace Lawyers and that of other strata law firms is that we understand that we can’t be all things to all people. Accordingly our main focus is advising strata managers, owners corporations and strata committees to achieve the best outcomes for the body corporate and in turn all lot owners who live in those schemes.
We understand that giving back to the industry and community in which we work is important. Being at the forefront of the areas in which we practice, Grace Lawyers NSW contributes a lot of time and resources in assisting industry bodies, government and its clients in providing education as well as advice and submissions on law reform. Outside of the legal environment we also participate and contribute to many different charitable organisations with a special place for those charities involving the needs of children and animals which includes our support of programmes such as the Smith Family Child Sponsorship and the Animal Welfare Leagues Kennel Sponsorship.
Our Queensland team is led by Brenton Schoch and Sam Marsh from our Brisbane office, and Jarad Maher and Brendan Pitman from our Gold Coast office.
In 2023, Grace Lawyers was recognised as the leading Strata Services Business through Strata Community Association (Qld) (SCA (Qld)). SCA (Qld) is the peak industry body for the strata sector. Its membership consists of strata management companies, strata service suppliers, community titles schemes and lot owners.
This award is drawn from the wide pool of suppliers of all types of services across the industry, such as legal, insurance, property maintenance, engineering, utilities, other professional services, technology, etc. We were previously listed as a finalist in 2021.
In March 2022, Jessica Cannon joined Grace Lawyers as a partner with her entire team at her former firm, Cannon + Co. In 2022, Cannon + Co Law was listed as one of only two finalists in the Strata Services Business of the Year through SCA (Qld). That means our Queensland legal team has been recognised over three consecutive years as one of the industry’s leading Strata Services Businesses.
We regularly act for and advise some of the largest and most iconic strata schemes and integrated resorts in Queensland. We service and meet clients in all areas of Queensland. We regularly visit Cairns, Townsville, Tweed and other northern and southern areas. We are mobile and committed to servicing bodies corporate in regional areas.
We maintain a busy practice acting exclusively for bodies corporate in management rights matters and in defects disputes against builders and developers. This avoids any potential conflict of interest and keeps us at the forefront of the industry.
We provide support and assistance to many of the leading industry bodies for strata, including the Strata Community Association (QLD), Australian College of Strata Lawyers (ACSL), Australian Building Management Accreditation (ABMA) and Australian Apartment Advocacy (AAA).
We have developed a reputation for being trusted with complex litigation, and taking a principled approach in management rights matters by which the best interests of lot owners and body corporate are placed before other stakeholders.
