Daniel is Operations Director and oversees Grace Lawyers’ strata and commercial litigation, insolvency, insurance, building and construction litigation, and debt recovery practice areas.
Prior to practicing as a lawyer, Daniel owned and operated a number of businesses in the area of advertising and multi-media production. Since completing a combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degree at the Australian National University in 1998, Daniel has specialised in strata, commercial and insolvency litigation. His broad range of experience includes:
- Acting and advising in complex commercial disputes, insolvency and insurance matters and building and construction litigation
- Appearing as advocate for urgent injunctive relief, interlocutory applications and final hearings and appeals in the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal, all Federal Courts and the Local, District and Supreme Courts
Daniel has worked with accountants, trustees in bankruptcy, receivers, administrators and liquidators in advising on insolvency law and he regularly assists strata managers with a range of matters arising in their businesses including levy recovery, strata & community schemes advice and recovery from builders and insurers on building defect claims.
Daniel’s business background means he brings a fresh and commercial perspective to the practice of law. It complements his legal experience and allows him to provide practical advice and guidance in addition to technical legal knowledge.
Daniel is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales, the Strata Community Australia (NSW), National Strata Community Australia Institute, Strata Community Australia (QLD) and a full member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association. Daniel is a regular presenter at seminars and lectures and presents at industry conferences, conventions and to peer group bodies in his practice areas.
